A home renovation in Westmere (Part 1: Deck Installation)

Homeowners Tara and Clay live in a 2 storey character townhouse hidden away in the quiet suburb of Westmere. In need of updating their bathroom and wanting to install a deck in their backyard, they contacted Saleem Bhikoo from SKYLINE ENGINEERING SOLUTIONS LTD in Auckland Central.

Finding their outside space underutilised, Tara and Clay wanted to create a welcoming area to enjoy the outdoors, with a bit of added privacy. Saleem developed the plan and his design team delivered the brief, which exceeded the homeowners’ expectations of what was possible.
Speaking on the initial stages, Saleem reveals: “Tara loved the concept design for the decking. It allowed her to visualise what was being built, make changes, and finally approve the design before the build.”

During the build, the SKYLINE ENGINEERING SOLUTIONS LTD Project Manager and his build team carefully executed the construction as per the plans, using quality materials and workmanship. Garapa hardwood was used for the decking and seating, selected for its durability and beautiful warm colour. It also matched the quality stainless steel fixings for a superb finish!
Saleem finished the deck by installing a large privacy screen and fixing planter boxes that added to the overall ambience. 
“I got the exact deck I was after,” says Tara. “The quality of the work is fantastic!”
